:shamrock::shamrock:Welcome to Cynaeniog:shamrock::shamrock:

PROJECT JOURNAL

2009

:new::star:02 September - OK! All my horses have pics now. :D I got a bit carried away with Moilchen's painting - now I'm going to have to redo my quick drawings of the others (especially Cadell) if I want a consistent gallery, lol. That teaches me to rush things!!
I've also started working on foal pics! There's no hurry though, so I'm really going to think about them+ take my time. I need to get Nico Gold racing as well, burn off some of that inexhaustible energy :giggle:
I've also realised why I wanted to join HARPG in the first place. I've always loved horses + drawing horses. I've browsed around DA for something like 8 years and my all-time favourite artists are members here. HARPG not only has got more and more people drawing more and more pictures, it gives them focus and inspiration; it adds meaning and purpose and more and more horse artists seem to be doing things in an illustration-style way. Which is so cool! The drawings suck you in more than ever, and its fascinating to read about the horses and events involved, and also fun to try and think of ways to portray your own ideas and stories.
When I first saw HARPG stuff I didn't pay much attention, if anything I thought it was a bit frivolous, because I was a Serious Artist :lol: But games and fun exercises in creativity and imagination are the best things for getting artistic juices flowing, I know that! And just seeing more and more people join in has eventually got me around to reading the HARPG account info and going Wow, this sounds like fun! So, here I am. Hooray for horses! OK - enough rambling; this isn't even News any more, is it. Til next time!:star:

:star:30 August - Cause for celebration today, all the breeding pics from earlier in the year are now up! While we wait for the foals, I'll do my best to introduce you to all the final members of the adult Cynaeniog herd.:star:

:star:27 August - Due to a mistake in the archiving the journal has been started again from scratch! Everything is going fine at Cynaeniog, though we have been having some time off eventing this summer to rear the youngsters and because the racehorse trainer down the road had to close thanks to a financial crisis, so we no longer have the use of his training facilities. However we have had an unexpected windfall here, and are on the brink of building our own training barn. I'll keep you posted!! As regards art - we've decided to change style slightly having been really inspired by a lot of people here, and also because its been taking so long to get all our horses portraits up. So wait and see how that turns out!:star:

:tribute::tribute:ABOUT CYNAENIOG:tribute::tribute:

Cynaeniog is an unique establishment, where art and imagination come together as reality! Here imaginary horses live in our vast expanse of meadows,pastures and valleys. I keep them in as natural a manner as possible because I believe that is better for their health - shoeing and stabling are unheard of, and tack is not used except for horses who accept human contact without requiring 'breaking' or forcible starting - strangely this is most of them, but then our methods are very flexible and accepting of the horses nature. Currently our buildings include five houses, a small hospital, isolation barn, visitor's area with traditional-looking stables attached, and a storage/equipment barn. We often achieve remarkable results with the horses when we choose to venture into the world of showing or racing, partly due to the fact they are hardened and made intelligent and independent by their outdoorsy lifestyle. The expansive property is divided into permanent divisions stopping the herds mingling. Each division has its own barn which the horses are free to use. There is one bachelor stallion herd and a herd made up of mares and geldings, as well as a herd including one breeding stallion and mares and their current foals. We offer our horses as studs and broodmares ensuring the continuation of our quality lines and the spreading of the word of the achievements of Cynaeniog! We employ a barn manager, two gardeners, and four grooms who all live on the property. Cynaeniog is more than a horse breeding facility, it is a way of life. Thanks for visiting Cynaeniog - a revolutionary ranch, pioneering a complete new style of equestrian management!

Thank you very much for adding my gallery to your watch list back in August. Apologies for being woefully late in responding, that real life thing prevents me from spending too much time on here.

You have a rather lovely gallery. I enjoy your loose, confident lines and the rich detail that you seem to enjoy so much. While you do seem to have a good basis in anatomy there are some weaknesses, particularly when you get to the lower leg on the horse. You have so much fun doing the head and neck that it seems by the time you reach the leg you almost lose interest. I do realize that a lot of these were done rather speedily and you're actually much more capable, as is evidence by the drawing of Moilchen.

And I just realized that we've watched each other before, I thought it was oddly familiar... But anyway! Welcome to the HA RPG *grin.*
